Privacy notice
What we keep, and why
Neighbours Circle keeps as little personal data as it can. This notice explains what is stored, why, and how to remove it.
What we store
- Your account: an anonymous member id and the name you sign in with.
- What you post: board posts and replies, saved and recommended businesses, businesses or services you add, and job vacancies.
- Job applications: encrypted so that only the person who posted the job can read them. Deleted after 90 days, or when you withdraw.
- Business claims: the trade licence copy is used only to check the claim and is deleted once the review is done.
- Newsletter: your email address and the consent you gave, only if you sign up. You can unsubscribe at any time.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal data or share it with advertisers.
- We do not use advertising cookies. Visitor statistics come from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which Cloudflare says counts page views without cookies or local storage.
- If you ask for job alerts, we keep your email and the job search you typed, send a confirmation link first, and then email matching vacancies about twice a week until you stop them with the link in every email.
- Questions typed into the AI answer box and its answers are saved without your name or email so we can reuse them; Cloudflare Workers AI produces the answers.
- Some guide pages have Amazon affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. On Amazon, its own privacy notice and cookies apply.
- We also count page views ourselves, as daily totals only: which page, which website linked to it, country, language and whether it was a phone or a computer. No cookie is set, your IP address is not stored and the counts cannot be linked to you or to your account. We keep them for up to 13 months.
- We never ask for passport, visa or Emirates ID copies.

Member accounts
When you sign in with Google we receive and keep your name, email address, profile photo link and a Google account identifier. We never see your Google password.
When you create an account with your email address we keep your first name, your email address and your password in hashed form only (scrambled one way, so nobody, including us, can read it). To check that the email is yours, we send a 6-digit code; we keep only a scrambled copy of the code, for 10 minutes. After 10 wrong passwords we pause sign-in for that email for 15 minutes.
We also keep: the date you accepted the Terms of Use and this notice, your sessions (a random sign-in cookie, valid for 30 days), the jobs you save or mark as applied, the clubs you start or join, your clubs profile if you fill it in (emirate, area, level by activity and, only if you choose to give it, your gender, used to match you with women-only or men-only clubs), your CV and "open to work" tag if you add them (kept private: used only to fill in your job applications and to let you download your CV; other members and employers cannot browse it; a CV file you import is read in your browser and never uploaded), and reports or requests you send. We record the country your request came from, never your IP address.
Why we use it (legal basis)
To run your account and the features you ask for (contract), with your consent, which you give when you tick the boxes before signing in. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account; this does not affect anything done before.
To keep the site safe, for example to stop spam and act on reports (legitimate interests).
Who else handles it
Cloudflare, Inc. hosts the site and the member database and provides the cookieless visitor statistics. Google LLC provides Google sign-in. Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.) sends the sign-in code and password emails. They may process data outside the UAE, under their own data protection terms. We do not sell personal data or share it with advertisers.
How long we keep it
Account data stays until you delete your account. Sessions end after 30 days. Reports and requests are kept for up to 12 months after they are closed.
Your rights
You can see and download your data (Me page, Download my data), correct it, delete your account (Me page, Delete my account), object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent. Visitors in the EU or the UK have these rights under the GDPR and the UK GDPR, and may also complain to their data protection authority. Residents of the UAE have rights under Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021. Use the form below for anything you cannot do yourself; we reply within 30 days.
Your choices
You can delete your posts, vacancies and applications yourself. To remove anything else, including a business listing about you, use "Report a problem" on the page or contact the site team.
The UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021) applies to this site. As of October 2026 its executive regulations have not been issued. We will update this notice when they are.
